turnover margin

Hi all !

Can someone tell me the exact definition of turnover margin ?

I just realized 4 of the 5 best teams in DFL are at the top in turnover margin , so knowing exactly what it entails would help me try and progress on my paltry 0 margin ; )

It’s how many times take the ball away compared to how many times you give it away. So if you’ve got 10 turnovers from your opponent and only turned it over 4 times you would be +6

Thanks !

So do I understand that turnovers = {interceptions + fumbles lost + strip sacks} by your opponents - {interception + fumbles lost + strip sacks} by you ?
OR am I missing a component here ?

Cheers !

strip sacks don't count unless you recover the fumble which is just a fumble recovery. So it's interceptions plus fumble recoveries by your team and the same for your opponents.

Hi all !

I have 2.5 turnover per game and my opponents have 1.5 (average on the season)

But my turnover margin is -8 in average

How is that possible ?

Thanks in advance for any help !

In this case, +/- is the differential between the number of times you turn it over compared to the number of times your opponent turns it over. Since you are turning it over more times a game, your number will be negative. In this case, the higher the positive number the better.

You turn it over 2.5 times a game and your opponent turns it over 1.5 so the differential is

2.5 - 1.5 = 1 turnover per game more than your opponent.

So in 8 games, you have turned it over 8 more times than your opponent.
