The way I'm interpretting the sub tiers (and I may be wrong), but it looks like if you go with the 12.50 plan, with the leagues running 2-3 months between seasons, you would already be paying anywhere from $25-37.50/per season anyway. I could be wrong with my interpretation though. I am just trying to figure out an option that would fit for everyone. Not that it would matter lol. Just spitballing.

This is where I’m at after thinking about this for a while .
While there is still one free option , which is great and the right thing to do , new owners need to be encouraged in .
However this game has gone from being totally free (outside of customizations) to now , (imho) quite expensive for the more dedicated player . So from free to expensive is I think what is the main problem here .
That said I also (as said before) fully endorse what JDB has done and is trying to do . But do feel the subscriptions need tweaking .
I don’t understand why league owners are getting shafted , they are part of admin in running leagues . I find that odd.

Yeah, I have to 2nd Gustoon.

It's hard enough to find someone to admin leagues and it's even harder to find good, active league admins who make leagues great but adding extra content, recruiting new owners and keeping the league fun, active, competitive and full.

You can name great league admins on one hand, maybe 2 hands: Raidergreg, McBolt55, Gustoon & myself come to mind and I'm sure there are others I've missed.

Being an active league admin means putting in time to add content, keep the league full while also assisting newer owners which takes away from actually managing your own team.

Don't get me wrong I like what I do but being asked to pay way more then anyone else seems very backwards to me.

I agree and would not go along with it.

I've already said a fair bit about the change and the path forward, and wasn't going to comment on the actual pricing structure because it doesn't materially affect me as a single-league user.

However, the comments of the league admins above makes it obvious that it is unworkable for them as it stands. Fortunately, the solution is obvious; a referral codes system that gives discounts to users who recruit new paying users, and discounts for the admins based on the number of paying customers in the leagues they run.

The league admins are the most valuable users; not because they're the most dedicated and most willing to pay, but because they're the ones most likely to work on attracting new users. I wonder how much money has been brought into the game indirectly through word of mouth by league admins; if I were a betting man I'd say that it's probably at least as much as those who discovered the game organically.

Most, if not all of our recruiting comes from people who are already MFN users. Personally I know of just 1 person I brought to MFN years ago and he didn't like it.

Getting new users pretty much requires a marketing push of some kind.

I agree that it needs much more than just word-of-mouth to grow, but to give you an example, I invited a friend (who is not part of our league admin's wider community) to join our league. He was planning, if he enjoyed MFN, to start his own league with his friends from another fantasy football game, and this change has totally killed that plan for him.

I'd argue that marketing, while necessary, is, on its own, inadequate since a league requires a certain level of critical mass and player buy-in to be viable, unless the plan is just to throw randoms together into leagues.

Now is the perfect time to recruit for a football based mmorpg, NFL off season is closing in soon .
What I do is every now and again when one of my Jets teams plays a good game (ha ha yeah I know! ) and it’s particularly a div rival , I will post the game on Twitter and hastag both teams in. How many actually become members I don’t know , but they get a few thousand views every time .
Just a thought

Tossing some pasta into the sauce for discussion.
1. Admin pricing: 12$/mo. 11 for 6 months. 10 for 12 months.
-full customization access for new leagues
-full customization of AI teams in any (edit: administered) league post allocation draft.
-AI roster access (contracts)
-No limit to the number of leagues permitted to admin.
-other?
2. $2.00 - $2.50 for no ads and no customization.
-+ .25 - .50 cents per additional team up to a maximum of four teams.
2A: Add the above option to no ads/full customization accounts holders.
3. 6 month and 12 month discounts (as noted under Admin) for all subscribers.
4. RO is 100% free.

Anyway, Just some stuff I’m kicking around as I’m thinking about all the player input in this thread. Better to talk about what can be done now instead of what was done last week.
