Hey all, I was wondering what your reactions/plans are about the new subscription. I've used credits to buy a sub. to continue running the league and I don't mind continuing to do so if everyone is on board here. I do realize that it's a shock to everyone that it's happened so soon and seemingly out of the blue, but to be honest I know jdb had sent out a notice a while back stating this is something he needed to do. I understand where he's coming from as, from what I understand, he is a one man band right now. With that being said I would like to share my reactions, thoughts, and ideas for this league as we move forward.

Currently, I am planning on dropping all my other teams in order to focus all my time and energy into running this one.

With many owners not wanting/willing/able to pay for a sub. to run more teams (many of which have had several teams at once before), I would like to try to make this league more interactive from the owners. I'm thinking maybe owner polls, a committee to elect HoF members, maybe have articles written about each game, or team. I don't know, I am willing to take suggestions or ideas from you guys to make this league fun and interesting.

I don't know much about developing a game, but I can imagine it can be very time consuming and expensive to run a server. I do hope and wish JDB is able to keep the game going and start being able to improve it. Personally, I think he has done a good job at keeping it going as long as he has without having to go to a model such as this. I do wish he had gotten some feedback before he started though, and he may have behind the scenes. Anyway, I was just wanting to spitball a bit and see what you guys thought and if you guys had any ideas to help make this league the most fun and interesting as it can be.

@Gscorpio - Your ideas on how to make the league more interactive are quite good. I really like the idea of written articles on games or teams but that would require an abundance of time. (Maybe using ChatGTP could help)

I have recently subscribed to a plan so I'll be involved in this league, and a few others. You might want to gauge the other member's motives before doing anything else because having too many AI team owners in a league really sucks.

I will be sticking around with this league I have pulled out of my other leagues and will only be participating in this one. i enjoy this game and maybe just being focused on one league i will be able to learn more and be more focused

I did the subscription, so I am staying and hope you all do as well.
If you are picking only one league, make it this one. It can be made better.
2. We needed more involvement at the most fun time in any league and that
is draft day. In one league we did a pod cast for the first 2 rounds. It was
fantastic. If we can't do a podcast, the be on league chat for some real talk.
3 I used to do an article like this ..."JohnWayne's Losers" where I predicted
a few games and named the loser. It is easy to pick winners, hard to pick losers.
4 Trades. Like them or hate them. They should have stop gaps and should be
done with the purpose of making each team better. A LG for a LB might be good.
Three first round picks for a QB is not a good idea. Just know this, I LOVE TO TRADE!
5. The game planning rules here may work. I have worked hard on mine. At least
we can do our best, but all must try to follow the guides.

I read somewhere that there is a game called pennant wars but I haven’t checked into it so I don’t know how similar or if it’s a pay to play. I’ve thought about looking for a baseball game also

I’ve gotten a few ideas brewing but I like the idea of the predictions feel free to do that if you want.

I wanting and trying to get a few players who would want to be on a HoF committee. I’ve gotten myself and one other person so far

I've been playing there since 2016 (it was someone on there that first brought me here!). Great game, good community, and there's no cheat codes - the game runs the same for everyone, all you can do is try and maximise the talent you have (there are no trades) with the limited management options available.

Steve (the admin) also runs a college basketball sim called Hardwood, but I'm not into basketball so I only played it briefly - it runs pretty much the same as Broken Bat.
