Welcome to BvS Sports. In a league that is in its first season, there will be a lot of firsts this year. Today we will be focusing on a player that has already made league history without playing his first down.

Paul Redman, thank you for joining us today.

Redman: Thank you for having me I am super excited to be here and in the league.

BvS: So tell us, what have you been up to since you last got behind center?

Redman: I've still been getting on the field. I was coaching the local high school team and mixing it up with the team. I tell the kids that if they hang on to their dreams and if they lay it all on the field, their dreams can come true. It's always been a dream of mine to play at the highest of levels and when they heard about the combine for a new league, the kids convinced me to give it a shot. I went and had a great combine. Several teams approached me and my agent said I was definitely going to be a first or second rounder which I was ecstatic about. When I heard my name called first overall in the first ever draft, well, to me that is so unbelievable. I couldn't be happier and more excited.

BvS: Congratulations on being the highest tenured player in the league.

Redman: (chuckles) Although it is an honor being the first overall pick, it means nothing if we don't win games. Although this is a team sport, the onus lies on my shoulder to lead this team to some hardware. Individual accolades are great to have, but how successful are you really if you don't win games and championships? I have every bit of confidence in this team's leadership that they will put the best possible team together on the field and the coaching staff to put us in the best possible position to win. It is up to us as a team to execute the game plan. It is up to me to lead the team to the execution.

BvS: We wish you the best of luck and once again congratulations on making it to the league!

BREAKING NEWS FROM WISCONSIN...

Wisconsin's top prospects are looking quite promising as some of their key players are showing significant progress post-training camp. Cornerbacks Eddy Phillip and William Smith are impressing, and will make it tough for opposing offenses to throw downfield, according to starting quarterback Joshua Trent.

Additionally, top receiver Robert Dew's blazing speed is turning heads, with Trent even joking about his own arm strength and the ablilty of getting him the ball down field. Another standout, defensive end Mario Childress, is demonstrating a diverse set of moves making him difficult to block, as noted by defensive line coach Robert Russell.

However, concerns linger regarding the young and inexperienced offensive line, with Head Coach Christian Castellanos hoping they can withstand the challenges of the upcoming season. Despite this, Wisconsin seems poised for an exciting and competitive campaign ahead.

Inaugural Games

By Gscorpio - League Admin

Good afternoon sports fans. Today we spoke with league commissioner Scorpy on the first games of the season and how he thought it went. "I'm sure if you ask every GM how they thought it went you would get 50% of them would say it went as they hoped and 50% left the field a little disappointed. As a commissioner, I am very pleased at how they went. I looked over the numbers and was very happy with attendance of the games. Overall, we had over 950,000 tickets sold with a record 79,610 being sold in College Station for the showdown between Texas A&M and Washington. Our overall capacity levels were at 74% with Starkville setting the bar for the league at 80% full for the Mississippi State-Oregon matchup. As a GM I was pleased with how our Bulldogs were able to come out early and set the tone, but was disappointed with having to settle with field goals. We will need to turn those 3's into 7's if we are going to be true contenders in this league. I hope to see improvement along those lines as well as our fans keep showing up to the games to keep those cowbells ringing, as well as the rest of our stadiums continue an uphill rise in attendance. It was nice to see such a big turnout to all the games."

cornhuskers checking in,considering we joined team straight after allocation draft we are delighted with some of the prospects on this roster,we are very young and will suffer the first season or 2 whilst developing our youngsters.we find ourselves with potential stars at SS,QB,and 3 young receivers.
edwards stanley at safety skews up in talent and has 95 potential, gary thomas under centre jumped up 22/5 and looks to be long term answer for nebraska.the trio of receivers norman, brown and kier all skewed up and should be a handful for any defence couple of seasons down the road.
pre season performances have been rough and we expect the same throughout season until our guys are progressed,as we settle in for the long haul we are excited by challenge ahead

Preseason Week 2

By Gscorpio - League Admin

The second week of preseason has brought out more fans to see their favorite teams in action. Though the overall league tickets sales failed to reach the 958,000 number as it did on opening weekend, it did bring in just under 900,000 fans as teams that had to travel in the first week, got to show off their home uniforms this week. The battle in Beaver Stadium between Penn State and South Carolina brought out a record crowd of 88,661 Nittany Lion fans to cheer on their team while the clash in the coliseum filled a record 90% of the seats as fans filled the stadium to see UCLA take the field against Alabama. "We are excited to see more and more fans show up and fill these stadiums and cheer on the teams in this league. I'm really anxious to see if we can set the bar even higher as our teams take the field in week 3.", said commissioner Scorpy.

Despite showing great struggle on the offense, the OSU defense has been playing at an amazing level this preseason. Multiple young stars show great talent in the future including MLB Gregory Yang, SLB Kenneth Frost, and Jordan Pettaway. Despite all this good news OSU has struggled to find a QB for the rookie Mark Wiese to sit behind and grow. Defensive Tackle Lewis Lewis is also doubtful with a leg injury and is expected to miss 9 weeks (9/100 leg condition). OSU may struggle early in the regular season as the offense is relatively unreliable but expect the defense to continue to improve through the next few games.

BREAKING NEWS FROM WISCONSIN...

After a tough preseason, with its offense sputtering, head ball coach, Christian Castellanos expressed his concerns to the Wisconsin Daily Press. "We've had a really hard time moving the ball down the field, with any consistency. Our offensive line play has not been very good and our receivers are having a difficult time getting open. The coaching staff and players are working really hard in practice to address these issues."

They open their regular season on the road, in hostile Kinnick Stadium against a really good Iowa Hawkeyes team. It will be interesting to see how the Badgers respond to this challenge, and if they can secure a positive start to their regular season, despite the difficulties they've endured during the pre-season.

After a 2-0 start from OSU, we look at new QB, Ricardo Mendoza becoming the new leader of this offense and a bridge QB for rookie Mark Wiese to develop under. And now an exclusive interview with Ricardo, directly from the OSU stadium after the game.

BvS sports reporter: So Ricardo, you come in here, your first start, and get the win, how did it feel to get an opportunity from a team after seemingly disappearing from the league?

Ricardo Mendoza: Well, being 28 years old and not having much left in me, especially after a disappointing combine performance years ago and going undrafted, it was a shocker. One day I was out in the gym and I got a call from OSU, it felt like a dream and I am honored to be here.

BvS: Well, you had yourself quite a game going 18/22 with 127 Yards, One touchdown, no interceptions, and a 105 passer rating. Now this team wasn't known for their offense at all going into this game, and today you showed a whole different side of this offense to the fans at home. How did it feel going into this game?

Mendoza: Well, to be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect. I hadn't thrown a football since the combine, and honestly, I never thought I'd live my big dream of playing pro football. I knew we had a stud defense that had allowed 3 points the week before but was unsure how we would do on offense. After today I know that we have some great guys on this offense and I wouldn't want this any other way, on any other team.

BvS: So speaking of the defense, what do you think everyone at home should know about them?

Mendoza: Well, they've allowed 12 points this season, and I expect them to get better as time passes. Especially the coaches, the coaches are doing a great job at practice with helping them.

BvS: So regarding rookie QB Mark Wiese, how do you think he will do in a few years of sitting behind you?

Mendoza: Well, he has already shown me that he has some great talent built up in there, and we just need to execute it. I would love to almost parent him and pass on everything of mine before my time at OSU comes.

BvS: Ok, last question. What do you think the rest of the league and the media should think of you guys?

Mendoza: Well, I'd first off like to say that we have a lot of underdog players on this team, some weren't expected to get picked up by a team but they proved their worth. I'd like to say to everyone out there that we aren't to be slept on, though I've been here for one week and we can't determine the season's outcome by one game I do expect us to do great things. I actually noticed that there were some league power rankings posted yesterday and I was disappointed to find that we were one of the bottom teams on the list. I'd like to say this, as much fun as it is to be a top contender, I'll play the underdog.

BREAKING NEWS FROM WISCONSIN...

With four games in the books, The Wisconsin Badgers have three wins under their belts. But looks can be deceiving. This Badgers squad has struggled to move the ball on offense, averaging a paltry 155 yards through the air. Their run game hasn't faired much better, rushing for 89 yards a game ranking them 20th in the league. The Madison Minute's own, Oliver Henry, sat down with head coach Christian Castellanos to discuss the first four game of the season, and his outlook for the team the rest of the way.

Oliver Henry: Coach Castellanos, thank you for joining me. Let's get right into it. With three wins in the first four games, the Badgers seem to have a winning record. However, the offensive stats tell a different story. What do you attribute the struggles on offense to?

Head Coach Christian Castellanos: Thanks for having me, Oliver. It's true, our offensive performance hasn't been up to our standards. There are a few factors contributing to our struggles. Firstly, we've faced some tough defenses in the early part of the season. Teams have been able to key in on our tendencies and limit our effectiveness. Secondly, our offensive line is a very young and inexperienced group. They need to protect Joshua much better if we're to have any long-term success, so we're doing our best every day in practice, to coach them up. And finally, I have to take responsibility as the head coach. We need to do a better job of game planning and executing on offense.

Oliver Henry: Coach, you mentioned the challenges with the offensive line being young and inexperienced. How are you working with them to improve their performance and protect your QB, Joshua Trent better?

Coach Castellanos: Absolutely, Oliver. Our offensive line is a crucial part of our offense, and we're fully aware of the need to protect Joshua and give him time to make plays. In practice, we're focusing a lot on fundamentals and technique. We're drilling them on their footwork, hand placement, and communication to ensure they're working as a cohesive unit. Additionally, we're studying film extensively to identify areas for improvement and to learn from our mistakes. It's a process, but I'm confident that with hard work and dedication, our offensive line will continue to improve and become a strength of our team.

Oliver Henry: Coach, Robert Dew has been exceptional on special teams, scoring on multiple punt and kickoff returns. How has his performance impacted the team and contributed to your success in winning games?

Coach Castellanos: Robert has been a game-changer for us on special teams. His speed, agility, and playmaking ability have been instrumental in swinging momentum in our favor and putting points on the board. His ability to break tackles and find running lanes has not only resulted in touchdowns but has also energized our team and provided a spark when we've needed it most. His contributions on special teams have been invaluable and have undoubtedly played a significant role in our success in winning games.

Oliver Henry: Looking ahead, what's your outlook for the rest of the season?

Coach Castellanos: Despite our early offensive struggles, I'm optimistic about the rest of the season. We have a resilient group of players who are hungry to prove themselves. We know what we're capable of when we're firing on all cylinders, and I believe we'll see significant improvement as the season progresses. Our goal remains the same: to compete for a conference championship and beyond. We'll take it one game at a time, focus on executing our game plan, and let the results take care of themselves.

Oliver Henry: Thank you Coach Castellanos, for your insights. Best of luck to you and the Badgers for the remainder of the season.

Coach Castellanos: Thank you, Oliver. We appreciate the support. Go Badgers!
