SEATTLE — The Huskies secured the National Championship with a 14-7 victory over the Razorbacks on Saturday at home. The defensive struggle featured strong rushing attacks and critical red zone stands by both teams. Huskies head coach Jacob Bryant guided the team to their first title of the season in the elimination game.

The Razorbacks struck first in the opening quarter with a six-yard touchdown run by running back James Anderson with 6:13 left. Kicker Kevin Wilson's extra point put Arkansas ahead 7-0 early. The Huskies responded in the third quarter with a four-yard touchdown run by Louis Matos, followed by John Donaghy's extra point to tie the game at 7-7.

Momentum shifted fully in the fourth quarter when Andrew Fontenot punched in a one-yard touchdown to gain the lead. Donaghy’s successful extra point extended the Huskies’ lead to 14-7 with 13:32 remaining. The Razorbacks’ attempt at a 50-yard field goal in the second quarter was missed wide right by Wilson, proving critical in the low-scoring contest.

Seattle relied heavily on its rushing game to control possession. The Huskies rushed 41 times for 161 yards, led by Fontenot’s 59 yards and a touchdown on the ground and receiving. Matos added 41 rushing yards and one receiving touchdown. Quarterback passing numbers were modest with 53 yards and no passing touchdowns. The Huskies did not capitalize on any third down conversions but maintained ball control effectively.

Arkansas amassed 92 passing yards on 12 completions from quarterback Lewis Hemingway, who was intercepted once, and totaled 112 rushing yards but could not convert that production into enough points. Aside from Anderson's initial touchdown, the Razorbacks were held scoreless on offense, missing a key field goal, and facing solid defensive stands.

Defensively, both teams recorded no sacks or forced turnovers aside from the one interception thrown by Hemingway and none forced by the Huskies. The penalty count was minimal, with the Huskies committing one for 10 yards.

Huskies owner $B$Dog$ said after the game, “Our ground game set the tone, and Fontenot’s toughness at the goal line was the highlight. Bryant’s game plan stopped Arkansas when it mattered most.”

The Huskies finish the National Championship undefeated in league play at home. This marks a significant achievement under head coach Bryant’s leadership.
