The Longhorns made the Aggies defend the full width and depth of the field, then used a relentless pass rush to make sure there was no answer on the other side. Edward Bolin’s team left with a 52-0 road win, improving to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in division play. The Aggies fell to 2-4.

Austin opened with a field goal, then added a seven-yard Benjamin Maple touchdown run with 15 seconds left in the first quarter to make it 10-0. The ground game gave the Longhorns a dependable counterpoint to Kirk Rose’s passing: Blake Jones scored from two yards early in the second, and the Longhorns were 9-for-13 on third down for the game. That conversion rate kept drives alive and put the Aggies’ defense under sustained pressure.

A Rose interception in the second quarter briefly gave the Aggies a chance to change the script. Instead, a punt return swung the field position battle decisively. Jones took the punt back 74 yards for a touchdown, making it 24-0. Rose then found Bryan Roberts for a 32-yard score, and Austin had extended the margin to 31-0 with 2:11 remaining in the half.

The numbers show how thoroughly the Longhorns controlled both phases. They totaled 258 rushing yards and 305 passing yards, while the Aggies managed only 95 through the air and four on the ground. Austin’s defense recorded eight sacks, forcing the Aggies into a 1-for-14 day on third down. That combination of pressure and poor down-and-distance left the home offense with little room to sustain possessions.

Rose finished with three touchdown passes, and Roberts was his most explosive target, collecting 104 receiving yards and two scores. His 61-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter came after he broke free of coverage, pushing the lead to 44-0. The Longhorns also scored from close range through Steven Reed, Darnell Pike and Maple, giving the offense answers whether the situation called for a short-yardage run or a strike downfield.

The Aggies did force two fumbles, including a fourth-quarter takeaway from Timothy Vance, but could not turn those plays into points. Austin answered with Pike’s one-yard touchdown and a successful two-point conversion for a 52-0 lead. The shutout was a complete execution win: a balanced attack, efficient third-down work and a front that consistently disrupted the Aggies’ protection.
